Your dentist has told you that you need dentures, and you are finally coming around to the idea. So what happens now? Do you just go to your dentist office and they'll pull you out a pair from their stockroom? The process of getting dentures is actually pretty complicated, as your denture needs to be custom-fitted for your mouth. If you're having a partial, you'll need to have other dental work done first, such as extractions, gum cleanings, and fillings, and then a dental lab needs to get involved. After your denture has been put into place, you'll have a review appointment to determine how well your mouth is adjusting to your dentures. Even if no adjustments are needed, you'll still be required to contact our office regularly in order to check for changes and problems. |
